Rendering: Vehicles and Cars

I have been looking on different rendering engines, Thea, Vray and Hypershots and Keyhots. I love them all. In the case of produce modeling and rendering, no one can deny the speed and quality of Binkspeed's shot and Luxion's KeyShot.. I will be putting here some of my vehicles and cars rendering.

This Ferrari model was made in SketchUp and can be downloaded in the 3D Warehouse. CLICK each image for a bigger view.

Chaos group Website and Forums

Well, well, well.... Finally! Its back to normal. Most of the old posting at the old Asgvis forums were now migrated to the new house- the ChaosGroup site at www.chaosgroup.com.  If you are use to with the old Asgvis forum you might ask a lot of things like me. In order to help you and better understand the differences and the different steps to access your old postings, I promise to create a detail guide. For the meantime, here are some screen grab images of the new Vray SketchUp Forum.

NOX Renderer

Will this new FREE rendering engine kill Vray?

I came across at Evermotion.org and was surprised to find this new rendering Engine which is in Beta stage at the moment. I am impressed. Will this be the next talk of the town amongst the visualization and rendering community? Who knows. I still remember how I started with SketchUp 4.0 six (6) years ago. I had the same felling. Now SU is being widely use especially by the students. There is something in software when you tried them in the beginning then you have this type of felling. I am having that with Nox. I had it with SketchUp. Enough said. Here is the LINK if you want to try to download it. Be sure you are a registered user of Evermotion.org

SketchUp Styles

SketchUp is known for its Non Photo Realistic (NPR) rendering. Before the arrival of rendering scripts in the 3D market, ScketchUp paraded its unique way of visualization using Styles. In the minds of the @Last, the first developer of SketchUp before Google acquired it, they somewhat favored SketchUp with NPR output with the goal of producing quick 3D viz especially in the conceptual stage of design.  Google pushed this further by allowing the users to create their own styles using the "Style Builder".
Here are some of my favorite links to download different styles and if used them in combination with other you could create another visualization approach.

  • www.sketchucation.com  you need to be member if you want to download them, at the same time you need to be patient in browsing because they were put together with other items like components and materials. But that is how to find the gem I guess.
  • www.formfonts.com arranged them in categories like top downloads and new styles. I actually like the way they catalogue them here.
  • www.sketchupartists.com  introduced the style with different twist, friendly and easy to see the effect of the particular style with a sample image, like the image below.
There are some more sites where you can download styles.  SU Podium has been develop its own group of styles that can be combined with the rendered image, which you can download here. Below is the night style created by podium.
